and medals almost mean nothing when you watch the
next four and a half minutes"  This
was a quote from a Eurosport commentator before
the start of Laurent's free program, and how
prophetic it was!
Skating to music from 'The Pink Panther', Tobel
performed 8 triples, including a triple
Axel-triple toe, and triple Flip-triple toe
combinations. Jumps apart, there was so much more
in the program to admire!
To describe the choreography as interesting is an
understatement! The crowd were involved right
from the start, and all of the presentation that
is unique to Tobel drew whistles and applause.
The step sequences were interesting, almost
comical at times.
Not surprisingly, there was a standing ovation
from the audience. There were also plenty of boos
for the marks, which in reality was inevitable,
unless there were some sixes for artistic
interpretation.
